CHIRLA (The Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights):

In partnership with the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights (CHIRLA), the DREAM Center offers free immigration legal consultations and immigration services to Sonoma State University students, staff, faculty, and immediate family members. CHIRLA can assist with Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), Adjustment of Status (AOS), Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS) and more.

First Time DACA Applicants:

CHIRLA can screen students for DACA eligibility. Please register to receive a first time DACA eligibility screening. Students will be contacted by a CHIRLA representative within 2 business days. 

DACA Renewal Applicants:

CHIRLA provides DACA Renewal assistance. Please register to receive DACA Renewal assistance. Students will be contacted by a CHIRLA representative within 2 business days to begin the process and go over the required documentation for their application. We ask that students have a copy of their last DACA renewal readily available.

DACA Funding Opportunities:

CHIRLA currently has funding to assist students with the $495 DACA Renewal fee. If students are interested, they should sign up for a DACA Renewal appointment and inquire when speaking to the CHIRLA representative. Additionally, CHIRLA currently has funding for students who are enrolled in a California Community College.

CHIRLA Representative of the Day:

If students, staff, faculty, and immediate family member would like general information, clarifications, case updates, or resources, they may log into the Zoom link and have these matters answered by an attorney or a CHIRLA accredited representative. This service will be available to all students every Friday from 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

One-on-One Immigration Consultations:

Students can schedule an appointment to have their immigration matters discussed in an individual setting with an attorney or CHIRLA accredited representative. Schedule an appointment today.
